The TT-02 is an easy-to-build, proven platform. It suits anyone starting out in on-road 4WD R/C racing or in casual parking lot fun with friends. This kit recreates the Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II on the TT-02 chassis. The car raced in the DTM series in 1991. The German Touring Car series known as DTM began in 1984 and changed its rules over the following decades. Interest peaked in the early 1990s, when Mercedes-Benz battled BMW and other brands for track supremacy. In 1991, during the championship fight, Mercedes introduced the 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II. It was based on the compact 190 E and had better aerodynamics, including wide-body fenders, front and rear spoilers and a large rear wing. Its 2.5-liter inline-4 DOHC engine made 340hp. That year the works car, sponsored by the German beer brand König Pilsener, took second place in the championship and gave Mercedes-Benz the Manufacturers Championship. Fits the Tamiya TT-02.
