Over 1,450,000 of the Citroen DS were sold up to 1975, and it became one of the better-known cars of the 20th century. It was the official car of the President of France and won the overall championship in the 1966 global rallies. This kit recreates the early version with two rounded headlights. The polycarbonate body sits on the MB-01 chassis, set up in the long wheelbase and front motor, front wheel drive (FF) configuration. THE MB-01 CHASSIS: The compact 2WD MB-01 chassis offers three wheelbase options and either front- or rear-wheel drive. The battery pack, motor and R/C equipment stay in the center frame. To switch drive direction, change the attachment direction of the final gears and steering linkage. Rear-wheel drive cars can use a low or high motor position. The four-wheel double wishbone suspension is symmetrical and uses friction dampers. Unitized sections such as the motor mount, final gears and suspension make assembly and maintenance easier.
