A light armored personnel carrier was built by adding armor to the 1-ton half-track, known officially as the Sd.Kfz. 250. Its front armor was 14.5mm thick and its side armor 8mm. One pair of track rollers was removed from the original design, with the first torsion bar shaft taken out to lower the weight. The Sd.Kfz. 250 was converted into many variants. The best known is the Sd.Kfz. 250/3 Greif, used by General Rommel in North Africa, including at Tobruk in June 1942. The name Greif, meaning griffin, was painted on its sides, referring to the winged creature of Greek mythology. This is a limited edition re-release. Listed as a universal fit item for general hobby use.
