A 1/67 scale B-26 Invader kit from the old Monogram tooling. It is molded in silver with clear parts and landing gear, and includes an updated decal sheet and artwork. The kit is officially licensed with Boeing. It measures 9 inches long with a 12.5 inch wingspan and is recommended for ages 14 and up. Skill level 2. During World War II, Douglas Aircraft developed the B-26, formerly the A-26, as a modern attack plane. Called the Invader, it was the fastest attack bomber of its day and could serve as a straight bomber, nightfighter, skip bomber, or strafing aircraft. This model carried eighteen .50 cal. machine guns and six rockets, along with its bomb load. The fuselage turrets were remote controlled and aimed through a periscope-style sight. The full-size aircraft had a 70 foot wingspan, was 50 feet 9 inches long, cruised in the 300 MPH class, and was powered by two 18-cylinder double-row Pratt and Whitney radials. The normal crew was three.
