About this part
A 1/400 scale Boeing SST transport kit molded in white, with decals for the Boeing 2700-200 and Pan American. It measures 9.50 inches long and includes a display stand. The kit is officially licensed with Boeing. The Boeing 2707 was an American supersonic airliner project of the 1960s. Boeing won a government-funded contract to build it. The design was large, seating 250 to 300 passengers, with cruise speeds near Mach 3, and it was meant to outsize and outpace rival designs like the Concorde. The entire supersonic transport idea drew heavy criticism over sonic booms and the ozone layer. The 2707 used a swing wing. Rising costs and no clear market led to its cancellation in 1971, before the prototypes were finished. FITS: general hobby plastic models
