Atlantis Monitor and Merrimack Civil War Set, Plastic Model Kit

About this part

This Civil War set includes the Monitor and the Merrimac, both ironclads. The Monitor measures 8.25 inches long at 1/210 scale, and the Merrimac measures 15 inches long at 1/300 scale. The set uses Lindberg tooling, not Pyro tooling. Parts are molded in light gray. The set includes a seascape base and individual display bases for each ship. It also has updated decals, a historical booklet, and detailed instructions. Each ship comes with its own nameplate. On March 9, 1862, the two ironclads fought off the coast of Virginia in a battle that changed naval warfare. The Atlantis "Battle of the Ironclads" diorama recreates the scene, and the booklet covers the Battle of Hampton Roads and the development of the first ironclads. It would suit a school project.
