The 540.DR shares its outer shape with the 540-M4, but the internals are where it differs. Its stator has an updated profile, thicker laminations, and a material chosen for the demands of drag racing. The result is strong torque off the line and steady pull through the pass, which helps elapsed times and consistency. A balanced, high-strength 13.5mm rotor runs on precision ball bearings for consistent output from pass to pass. Additional optional rotors for fine-tuning to different track surfaces and conditions are planned. Like every Reedy motor, it uses current brushless technology backed by engineering experience behind 30 World Championship titles. Several versions are offered to match different tuning needs and track conditions.
