About this part
Fine brown talus is a 21.6 cubic inch (353 cm3) bag of rock debris for modeling rock piles, slides and blasting areas. Mix grades and colors for a more natural look, and color it with Earth Colors Liquid Pigment. Talus and ballast are different materials. Ballast is set along the track to hold it in place. Talus represents rock debris at the base of outcroppings, on rocky hillsides and along embankments. To make sand, seal fine talus in a plastic bag. Tap it on a safe surface with a hammer until it reaches the texture you want, then tint it with Earth Colors Liquid Pigment to match sand. Other grades: medium brown talus is WOOC1275, coarse brown talus is WOOC1276, and extra coarse brown talus is WOOC1277. Fits general hobby HO and N scale trains.
