A front bumper and skid plate from RPM for the Losi 1:10 Baja Rey 4WD desert truck. The stock skid plate was too stiff for the bumper to absorb impacts. RPM moved the skid plate from between the chassis plate and differential to below the aluminum chassis plate. This adds skid protection to the chassis plate and creates a flex zone that lets the bumper move more in impacts. The bumper mount between the skid plate and bumper is stronger, and the bumper has its own flex zone, so it compresses under extreme impacts and returns to shape.
