About this part

A remote safety ignitor, also called a remote glow ignitor, for in-cowl engines. It provides an external glow driver socket that is wired directly to the glow plug and grounded to one engine head bolt. It works on any single cylinder engine. Use it on a car, helicopter, plane or boat where the glow plug is hard to reach or sits close to the propeller. The dust cover is held by a pin and swings left or right, which opens the recessed socket so the glow driver can go in. The socket is black plastic.

Requirements

• Cutting a hole to mount the external socket
• Cementing the housing into the hole with CA or epoxy

Comments

• The standard remote safety ignitor wire has a loop with another wire crossing through it, shaped like @.
• The remote safety ignitor for recessed glo-plugs has two wires in an opposing V shape, like ><.
