This 1/24 scale 4WD ready-to-run model is based on the Series II A, first shown at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1958. The Series I version debuted at the same show, a full decade after the manufacturer had started producing vehicles. The design team was led by David Bache, who later produced designs such as the Range Rover and the Rover SD1. Bache and his team styled the Series II in just six weeks, and it was praised for its simple, truly functional design. The basic form stayed consistent across later versions, and the rounded shoulders became a signature feature. The Series II also had deeper sills that hid the chassis members, giving it a less utilitarian look, along with distinctive curved glass at the rear corners of the cab. In 1969 a legal requirement moved the front headlamps from the grille into the wings. Production peaked in 1971 at 56,000 units a year, all built in Solihull. More than half a million Series II models were made over a 13-year production run. Pre-1969 models are now rare and highly sought after. FITS: Carisma MSA-1E
